Twins

Kayla wanted to dress up as twins with Callie the other morning and these are the "matching" outfits that they came up with. Here is a video of Kayla teaching Callie how to do a line dance to the new Hannah Montana song.

30 week baby bump

This post is for my faithful blog follower Jennifer, who noticed that I didn't post my 30 week belly picture. Well, I actually hadn't forgotton, but was more like avoiding it ;) Hmmm.... not feeling very photogenic lately I guess. But anyway, this is for you Jen! Only two more belly pics to go and then she will be here.

I love these two...

Callie misses her dad a lot during the day. She always talks about him... about his muscles, his hunting, his work with airplanes, and all the other things that she thinks are great about her dad. What's really funny is that Callie has come up with her own little term of endearment that she uses when she sees Brad. She says: "Doggy, doggy, doggy, PAT!" And while she says it she rubs the top of his head like he's a dog and then she starts hugging on his neck. It's really funny to watch. I have no idea where she came up with this. She started doing it probably half a year ago. Whenever they would be wrestling and playing around she would say this to him and rub the top of his head. Now she says it almost every time he comes home. It's her cute little way of saying "I missed you dad, play with me!"
Yesterday she said she wanted to call him. So on his lunch break we gave him a call. The first thing she said when he said hello is: "Doggy, doggy, doggy PAT!" He started laughing of course, and he said it back to her. Then I said, "that's what Callie is going to do when you come home daddy."
Well I didn't think anymore about it the rest of the day, but as soon as Brad walked in the door that is exactly what he got....

She loves her daddy.

Old pictures

Well I don't know how well you'll be able to see this pictures but hopefully if you double click them, they might get a little bigger. I just found some old pics when I was looking through some old boxes. I thought you might enjoy them. The first one is at Halloween. I am the ballerina in the center, Mark is to my right, deloy is standing on the car, and Seth is in my moms arms. It's crazy how time flies! The second picture to the left is of me when I was a toddler. I just thought it would be fun to post to see if I have any similarities with my girls. And the last one is of me and Mark. When I was first born my mom said I had dark skin and hair and that I looked like a little indian baby. It didn't take me long to lose all of it as you can see in the toddler picture, I quickly went to pale skin with blonde hair.

This is just a random picture I found from a halloween party that we had at my house. It was probably one of the funnest parties I ever had. Definately one I won't forget. My mom let me go all out for it. I'm sure most of you recognize the girls, but just in case you can't it is (starting from left): Chelsea Tippetts, Ashley Winterholler, Me, Janalee Moncur, Shelly Workman, Abigail Hoffman, Ginger Hawley, Megan Pollock, and Janell Schullthess. There were several other girls there, so sorry for those of you who didn't fit in the picture. Ha ha... good times.

Seth is home!

My brother Seth just returned home from serving a two year mission in Nashville, Tennesee. I am so proud of him and all of the hours of service that he has given. It's good to have him back home again. I wish that I could have been there to meet him when he got there. Sometimes it's so hard to live so far from home :( But hopefully I'll get to see him soon. Maybe after the baby is born. Other than that not a whole lot of new things going on. Kayla finishes up school tommorow and although I am very excited to have her home and spend some time with her, it hit me all the sudden today... What the heck are we going to do all summer? Normally, I wouldn't be that worried about it, but with it being so hot and me being seven months pregnant, my activities are going to be pretty limited. So hopefully the girls don't get to bored this summer. I'll have to think of some fun indoor activies. It would be nice to just let them play in the yard, but on most days it is just way to hot to be outside more than 15-20 minutes at a time during the day. So I guess I'm going to have to get a little creative and find some fun activities!

Her own language...

Today I was brushing my hair and Callie comes up to me and says: "Where we going mom?" I said, "Were going nowhere." To which she replied: "No, were going yeswhere!"
What a silly girl.

Finally some progress!

Well as some of you may know I started potty training Callie about 8 months ago or more. She's done alright since then, but she never just seemed to get the whole thing down. She would pee every time I would tell her to, but it was with conditions.
#1) She is never the one to initiate it. In other words, she won't tell me if she has to go. If I remember to take her every hour then she'll keep her pull up dry, but if I forget, she won't tell me she'll just go in her pullup.
#2) She will only pee in the potty and not poop. So no matter how often I took her, or left her on there or encouraged her she wouldn't poop on there. I could take her and she would pee in the toilet and then five minutes later she would poop in her pullup. Aaagghhh, so frustrating!

So after about half a year of this, I was just at a loss. I didn't know what to do but just wait for the time to be right for her. After all, I'm pretty confident that she "understands" what she is supposed to do. She is very bright. As the time was nearing for our next baby to come though, I was starting to think that we might have two girls in diapers, which I was not happy about.
So naturally you can see how excited I am that Callie has pooped in the potty two days in a row. So excited that I'm anouncing it on my blog ;) Now all we have to do is get her to TELL me when she has to go and then we will be finished, FINALLY! So hopefully it happens soon, wish us luck!

(P.S. Kayla potty trained in one day, I literally put the panties on her told her not to pee in them and she never did!) So this is pretty much my first experience really having to "train" someone.

Our week

Sorry, I haven't been very good about blogging lately. Nothing to crazy has been going on around here, maybe that's why I haven't blogged ;) So this post will probably just be a mesh of random different things.
Early on in the week Kayla begged and begged me to cut her hair. Brad and I both love how long her hair was getting so I was very hesitant, but I finally consented since I decided a while ago that I wasn't going to fight my kids on the small issues in life. After all it's her hair, so even though I'm trying to live my life vicariously through her (since mine won't grow), I decided to cut it. We compromised and I cut off about 4 inches, it wasn't as short as she wanted, but just short enough to satisfy her for now. I think it turned out really cute.

Kayla's third grade school year has also started to wind down. She will be finished up next Friday. We are so proud of the good grades that she has made and all the fun things she has been able to do this year. On Mothers Day, Kayla sang her first solo at church while I played the piano for her (I know...shocker, that I played the piano in public). She sounded so beautiful. When we got up to go sit down, Grandma Debbie had tears streaming down her face. Kayla said "Why are you crying Grandma?" And Debbie said, "It was just so beautiful!" I thought that was sweet. Kayla also had a mini dance recital this past week for a fundraiser for abused children. She did a great job. I think it was a good practice for her to because she will be having her official recital this next weekend. Here is a picture of most of her dance company:

It was actually a tap routine, but they had to perform it in their ballet shoes because of the gymnasium floors, so it wasn't quite the effect that we'll get at the real performance ;)

And last but not least here is a little video clip of Callie at lunch time telling me all about her baby sister Hailey.

Awwww......

What is true love?
True love is when your husband drives all the way down town to buy a can of corn to satisfy his pregnant wives craving for tuna casserole with corn.

And I didn't even have to ask, I just said how much I was craving corn and was sad that we didn't have any to put in my casserole, and he jumped right up to go get it for me. What a sweetheart.
