Ambers Baby Shower

Today we threw a baby shower for my good friend, Amber. She has been throwing parties and hostessing for all of our marriages, baby showers and birthdays. So we were so happy we all finally got to spoil her for a change.  We all kind of pitched in on the food and decorations.  I was in charge of the cupcakes and lemonade.  I made Vanilla cream pie cupcakes and chocolate chocolate cupcakes. Mmmmm.....

My friend Jessica, she just looked to cute and stylish not to get her own picture :)

My friend and neighbor Jeribeth:

The girl of honor, miss Amber, arriving in all her rain boot glory!  Ha ha... love this girl.

Mrs. Frisby and Mathews girlfriend Alyssa.

Amber sure got some great gifts! The hostesses chipped in and got her a carseat, stroller and baby monitor.

Kayla and Amber:

All the hostesses for the party (minus my mother in law Debbie who took a turn watching my girls so that Kayla could come over):

Callie's Field trip to the zoo

When I found out Callie's class was going to the zoo on one of the mornings I didn't have to work, I was super excited because I knew this would be the perfect time to spend some one on one time with her. So rather than bringing the other two girls, I just went by myself and met up with Callie's class. It was so much fun and I loved just being able to spoil her and give her my undivided attention. It can be a hard thing to do when you have four kids.

She held my hand the whole time and even got piggy back rides from me.  I love this age where she is proud of her momma and not embarrassed to show how much she loves me.

Love this one of her!

Callie with one of her best friends.  They are joined at the hip!

When I showed Callie all the pictures I took, this was one of her favorites.  Callie loves her teacher and I know she will be greatly missed when she has to leave Mrs. Grinnells class.

It was such a beautiful day, perfect for a field trip.  I sure love my Callie Rallie!

Aunt Karren comes for a visit

My little sister came to visit us this past week, and we have all been having a blast with her. It was kind of funny because when my mom came a few weeks ago, Hailey and Brynlee kept calline her "Karren". Now that Karren's here they have been calling her "Nanna". It's pretty cute. We have been keeping things pretty relaxed and not had to much on our schedule, but have loved spending every minute with her.

We took some pics together outside one day when it was nice.  Karren wanted to see how tall Kayla looked next to her.

Of course we had to do a silly one.

Yesterday we did hair and makeup for one of my Sunday school students at church.  She was going to prom with one of the boys from my class as well.  We went out to my in laws house to take pictures of them before the dance started.

That afternoon Brad also performed his first wedding as a bishop, and I heard it went really well.  Although we were not able to be there because we had so much going on that day.  After he got home we all decided to make  a quick trip up to Hazen and go fishing and grilling.  We brought the girls bikes and they had a blast riding around the pond.

Springtime

Yay, the yucky months are over! We are in full spring spirit here at the Shelton house. We have been spending a lot more time outside walking, running, jumping, having picnics and playing at the park. This last week Brad was able to go on his annual Kansas turkey hunting trip. He went with his dad, brother, a cousin, uncle and his best friend. They had a blast and they all did really well. Brad was able to tag out, so he got to come home to me one day earlier than expected. So that made me happy.

This morning his one request was that I cook him a nice breakfast since he had been eating candy bars for breakfast all week.  I asked him why he had been eating that, and he said "because nothings open that early!"  Ha ha... so we had a yummy breakfast this morning.  Then I headed up to North Little Rock with my cousin Misti and Sister in Law Jillian.  We went to an activity for Church.  There were a ton of women there, I have no idea how many, but I'm going to guess a couple hundred. They had everything decorated so nice and each table had a bouquet of cupcakes, it was such a cute idea.  They catered Jimmy Johns for all of us and we were also able to attend some mini classes on a variety of subjects.  Thanks to my mother in law Debbie for watching all 8 of our girls!

While we were gone Brad went and got some mulch for our flower bed, we all spent a while working on the yard and then decided to go on an impromptu fishing trip to Grandpa and Grandmas pond.

My favorite part of the whole day was when Brad talked Hailey and Brynlee into holding the worms.  For anyone that knows our girls, this was a huge thing.  My girls are terrified of the tiniest nat or fly.  So for them to hold a worm in their hands, just made this mamma proud!
