picture session

I thought the girls looked cute when we were on a little walk by our house the other day, so I had Kayla run back to the house and get my camera. I thought these turned out pretty good. This is in the field by our house.

little update

Okay, so I was hoping just a little that maybe I wouldn't have to post this last pic (because I'm huge!), but Hailey is just as happy and content as can be sitting inside me now, so here it goes. This is my 38 week baby bump. I am being induced at 39 weeks which is only 4 days away. Whoo hoo! I'm really excited if you can't tell. They are going to induce me since I am already 3 1/2 dilated now, 90% effaced and baby is engaged. So hopefully I won't have to much work to do when the time comes. Yeah, right.... we all know how that goes ;) Anyway, won't be to much longer, so stay tuned for a baby posting soon!
Oh, and by the way, for those of you who didn't know, my sister Karren is moving to Jonesboro, Ar in about 3 weeks which is only 2 hours from me. I'm so excited. I can't wait to have her here. My mom and Karren are also flying out on the 12th after the baby comes, It's going to be fun having them.

nearing the end

Still no baby yet. I can't believe I have made it this far. I guess it's true when they say that every pregnancy is different. I am feeling good and getting excited for her to be here. Since I am already dilating and almost all the way effaced my doctor wants to schedule an induction for the 3rd, that way we don't have to worry about getting to the hospital on time if I dilate more. So at the most we have just 11 days left! I can't wait to see our beautiful baby girl.

Story time

One thing that my girls have always loved doing during the summer is going to story time. We have been lucky to have really good libraries in every town that we have lived in so far, so it is something that we have been doing every year. One of the last activites that our library had was a singing group called Kiddo's. Here are some pictures of the girls having some fun singing along at story time. I love that Kayla is not shy, I can almost always talk her into volunteering to get up in front of a group.
This picture is of my girls with Brad's cousins wife Misti and their little girl Kennedy. She was expecting a little girl five weeks before me and gave birth to her a couple weeks ago. I love that our little girls will be able to play together and be the same age. Callie and Kennedy already have so much fun together at church and now our new little ones will grow up right along side of each other as well.

correction to last post

Oh and I need to make one little correction that made my last post a little confusing. I kinda made it sound like I only feel labor for one hour before I have my babies and trust me, that is not what I meant... ha ha, I wish that were true. It's more like I feel labor for several weeks, so I don't know when the real thing hits me because I contract and dialate over a long period of time. So no... you don't have to be jeoulous, my labors aren't that great either, I promise ;) For example, I contracted every 5 minutes for 2 1/2 hours last night and I've been contracting for about 10-15 minutes ever since then, but they are not getting closer and they don't go away either. They basically just leave me cranky and tired ;) But as several people commented on my blog, I think it would be really hard to have sudden, long and painful labors too (where you have to do all the changing all at once). I guess labor just stinks no matter how you have it. Good thing the babies make you forget all about it once you hold them.

pregnancy update

Well I went to the doctor last Tuesday and he said I'm dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced, he said that I will probably have Hailey in a week or two. But who knows? She is already doing a lot better than I thought she would so only time will tell.
I'm just nervous about progressing to much at home because when I do go into active labor it might go to fast. I had Kayla in about 3 hours and I had Callie 40 minutes after we left home (and I still wasn't SURE I was in labor with Callie till I got there). So it makes me nervous that I might not get to the hospital in time, it is about 25 minutes to get to my hospital. I wish I could just be one of those women who starts timing that they are having contractions every five minutes and then head to the hospital and have their baby. I have contractions that are five minutes apart sometimes for 2 or 3 hours at a time and then they just stop. And they can be very painful too. How am I supposed to know when it is real or not? Obviously having them 5 minutes apart doesn't mean a lot for me since this is probably my 10th time having episodes like this. Let's just hope my intuition kicks in and I know when it is the real thing. I realize that I'll know it's real towards the end but I'm just afraid it will be to late to drive there by the time I'm 100% for sure. Wish me luck!

4th of July

We had a pretty relaxed and quiet 4th of July this year. Kayla got to go spend the holiday with a friend at their lakehouse, so we were missing her. Brad, his dad, and brothers decided to go fishing early in the morning in Craig's boat. So while they were out Debbie, Jillian (my sister in law), Callie and I decided to go baby shopping in Little Rock. Neither one of us had a any major plans to buy anything big that day, but we found some good deals on clothes and got some cute new things for our baby girls. Later that night we decided to just relax at our house. So Cory, Craig and Jillian came over for some small fireworks (for Callie), barbecue, and a movie. It was a fun night.
