Lonoke County Fair
This time of year just seems so busy to me. I love all the fun activities that there are to do in the fall, but it does feel like we are always on the go. My girls are not the type to ever just want to sit at home anyway, so I try to keep them as entertained as I can. I'm more of a homebody, I could just sit around in the evenings and be totally satisfied. Anyway, this week we took the girls out to the county fair and Kayla and I decided we are going to enter some thing next year. She is going to enter either a sewing project or poem, and I might enter some photography if I can take some that is good enough ;)
Callie was very curious about the animals
Hailey was not scared of anything. She kept trying to stick her hands in every cage and we had to insist that she was going to get bit in order to keep her from doing it.
Kayla met up with all her friends and stayed a little longer than us and came home with the McFaddens.

Lonoke Parade
The girls were so excited to come home from school to tell me there was going to be a parade. We decided to go even though it looked like it might rain. And lucky us it didn't rain until the parade was over. Brynlee LOVED the parade, she was so excited about everything that passed, but you could tell she liked the band the best, especially when the big trombones went by.
She has been doing a lot of "open mouth smiles" lately and she twists her little tongue when she does it. So cute!

Callie is so good with her sister
I was worried about Callie being the rough one when Brynlee was born, but she has been EXCELLENT with the baby. Brynlee gets so excited to see her everyday when we pick her up from preschool.
Hailey is the one that Brynlee has to look out for (she's already been wacked in the face and bitten once by her), ha ha...good thing baby's are so forgiving.

Grandma Sheltons Birthday
We had a great weekend. Grandma Shelton had a birthday on Saturday, so Friday night we celebrated it since we were crazy busy on Saturday (yard sale in the morning, mother daughter banquet in Jacksonville, and babyshower in Lonoke). It was just a quick little party, but the girls wanted to make sure Grandma felt special.
Grandma and Grandpa brought Brynlee over a new walker and she loved it and was already scooting in it even though her feet could barely touch the floor.
Kayla spent a lot of time making a very special purse for her grandmas birthday. She learned how to make it at her Breads n' Threads camp this summer and she remembered how to do everything and picked out all the fabric herself. Grandma loved it!

Thoughts for the day...
As most everyone knows, I have an ice cream addiction. I eat ice cream almost everyday... I know it's bad. But on the bright side, I don't drink soda's, eat candy or a lot of other sweets. So that is my sugar rush for the day.
I actually look forward to my ice cream break, probably like someone looks forward to their coffee, tea, or coke break. I didn't realize how bad my addiction was until we went to Walmart last night. I had not had ice cream in several days for one reason or another, and so I was really looking forward to getting some. Right as I start to approach the freezer section, the lights went out in the refrigerators. Immediately store workers started taping off the area. I felt panic, anxiety.... Wait! Wait! Don't tape that off! I wanted to bust through the tape and grab a bucket and start running, ha ha. As sadness filled my soul I turned around and while walking away, I actually contemplated driving to another town to get my stash for the week.
And then it hit me, that I had an ice cream problem. And it would probably do me some good to learn to not have it once in a while. So I practiced my self control and went home without any.
And then, after I told my mother in law my sad story at the end of the day, she showed up at my house with ice cream sandwiches, bars, and three small tubs of ice cream! Ha ha ... I didn't have to do without after all! Got to love mother in laws ;)

Our mini family vacation
We just got home from Branson Missouri. We had a great little family vacation even though it was just a short one. We went to Silver Dollar City again because we had bought season passes earlier in the year and so we were excited to use them since we haven't had a chance to. The day we got there was the first day of their Harvest festival. I LOVED it because fall is my favorite time of year here in Arkansas. I love all the smells, colors, and yummy food! They had everything decorated so pretty.
They had all kinds of special events going on for the fall festival including: Timberworks Lumberjack Show, Chalk Street Artists, Turning Wood Into Art Showcase, 50-Ton Sand Sculpture, Professional Pumpkin Carver, Birds of Prey Shows, A Big Wheel Lathe, Missouri's Largest Barn Dance and many other craftsmen throughout the park.

Their favorite was riding on the train, especially when it got robbed!

They had a giant bucket that filled up with water and then would dump on you. And let me tell you... it dumped! Ha ha ha... I loved seeing the girls faces.
We also went shopping at Bransons Landing (our favorite outdoor mall) and ate at the Macaroni grill. We had a great trip other than Hailey getting carsick, poor girl inherited my motion sickness.
The weather was perfect, so the girls got to play all that they wanted to. Their favorite place is the big kid area with the water features and ball pit.

We stayed at a resort that we hadn't stayed at before called "The Welk Resort and Splash-a-torium", it was a great place to stay, they had an indoor slide and everything. Even Brynlee went swimming with us, she loves the water.
