Blue eyes

This morning I found an old dvd with some videos of Kayla and Callie from when they were little, and I have spent a little to much time watching all of them. I even teared up on some because it just makes me so happy seeing how sweet and cute they were when they were smaller. It makes me so thankful that I documented that, because you really do forget. And it made me pull out my camera this morning and take some pictures of Hailey and Brynlee.

Brynlee pretending to ignore me :)

Are these not the cutest feet you've ever seen?

These last pictures are from a birthday party Kayla went to last week for her friends Lindsey and Grant.  She had a great time!

Trampoline fun!

What we've been up to

Callie and Hailey told me that I'm the "best mom ever!" for letting them put up their puppy water park in the living room.  Times like this make you thankful for concrete floors.

The next day we had a rainstorm and the girls just loved sitting and watching the rain.  They sat there for almost an hour and I had to make them come in.

This morning we went to North Little Rock for a quick trip and Kayla and Brad went to her first Super Saturday in Jacksonville.  She loved meeting some new friends and members of the church that are her age. I hear she's a sports star! After she got home she got ready for a double birthday party and bonfire for her good friends Lindsey and Grant.
And Brad just shot him another turkey tonight!  He's having an excellent year so far.

Another chapter closing

Brynlee hasn't nursed in two days.   I didn't intentionally do that at first.  I mean I have been wanting to wean her slowly, and I have been cutting back her feedings and replacing them with the sippy cup.  But somehow I unintentionally didn't nurse her for almost two days when it hit me!  She was over it.  She wasn't asking for it and she was just fine every time I handed her her cup instead of me.
When I realized she was basically done nursing, it made me so sad.  I just assumed I would be the one to decide when she was done.  I wanted to call her over to me and feed her, because I knew she would nurse if I offered it.  But really that would be dumb wouldn't it, to start nursing her after two days when she had clearly moved on.  So I didn't, instead I sulked, with a pout on my face, and told Brad and Kayla "my baby doesn't need me anymore".  I know that is not true.  But it is how I feel.  This will be the last baby I ever nurse, OUR LAST baby.  And I know from watching Kayla how fast that they grow.  And it does make me sad.  But I will enjoy every moment that I have with my babies.  Because I know they will only be that way once.
I love all the ages that our girls are at right now.  I love where we are all at in our lives.  I feel happy and sad all at the same time.  Happy because I love life so much just how it is, and sad because I know it will change as they grow.  But hopefully with change, will come new happiness and joy in each of the milestones that they hit in their lives.

Turkey Season

This past week was a busy one for our family. Brad used some of his vacation to go to Kansas for the week with his Dad and brother Craig.  They had planned on staying 4-5 days, but wouldn't you know that all 3 of them tagged out within the first day and a half, with 6 turkeys!  Brad even got one the first day with his bow. He ended up coming home early, which was nice for us to spend a little more time together.    We also had a baptism for church this week for our good friend Aleda and another one on Sunday for one of my Sunday School students, Hailey.  It has been so awesome to have so many more people joining the church.

This last one is of Kayla on her youth hunt.

Easter

We had a beautiful Easter Sunday yesterday. The girls woke up bright and early to find their Easter egg baskets.  Hailey managed to eat 6 candy bars before I caught her and before she had had any breakfast, which resulted in her throwing up 3 times before church started, lol.  Guess I should watch my kids better huh? Anyway, the girls all looked pretty in their Easter dresses, we got more simple ones this year instead of fancy ones, I figured they would get more use out of these this summer.  Kayla sang at Sacrament meeting while I played the piano. She sang "I believe in Christ" and did a beautiful job.  All of the services at church were awesome, and we had a great day reflecting on our Savior and His Resurrection.

Later that night we headed out to our In laws "temporary home" a.k.a the "double wide" as Ross and Cory would so lovingly call it.  It is actually really nice out there and they are on a really nice lot which was perfect for an Easter egg hunt.  Uncle Kenneth, Mary, Keith, Misti and their girls all came out too.  As well as Craig and Jillians family. The girls had a blast playing together.

Our new trampoline!

I am so excited that the girls got a trampoline! I love trampolines because I always had one growing up and I have many fond and fun filled memories from ours.  I spent hours on that thing with my brothers and cousins, despite the dangers of it :)  Me and Mark used to always sleep out on the tramp, and we would load it up with like every quilt and blanket from the house and make one giant mass of cushiness!  My mom would always get mad at us because the blankets would be covered in dew in the morning and so they would all be damp and we would just leave them on the tramp instead of bring them in.  I'm glad she was such a nice mom and kept letting us do it though, because it was so much fun sleeping out under the open sky.
Hopefully our girls have just as many great memories on ours.  We got it from a new couple that moved into our Church area.  They don't have any children at home and the previous owners had left it.  So we were the lucky recipients!  We will need to get a safety net though.  I love this picture of the girls anxiously waiting for it to be put up.

My nieces

I watched my nieces today while their parents moved into their new house. It just so happened that my girls had school off today also, so I had a whole crew of girls! They were all excellent though, so I really can't complain. We had a lot of fun together. And I got a few cute pictures of them and wanted to share.

Coloring easter eggs

It's that time of year again, for dying our Easter eggs! I have been super busy lately and secretly hoped the girls might not remember our little tradition, ha ha.... but they did, and begged to dye some.  So we did and we sure had fun making them.

These are Kayla's new glasses.  They are so cute on her!  They have little flowers on the outside and aqua blue flowers inside the frame.
