Camp for Kayla

Grandma Shelton had the great idea to send Kayla to Cooking/Sewing camp this last week and Kayla has loved every minute of it.  It has been right up her alley.  She even got to bring her sewing machine to use that she got from Christmas.  So we have all decided that Kayla is going to do all the mending for our family from now on.  Every day that Kayla gets out of camp, Callie is anxiously waiting to see what Kayla "cooked" her for the day.  She has brought home muffins, scones, and other yummy treats. Here are some pics of Kayla's creations.  And the last one is of Kayla cooking breakfast for us at home.  (I like what this camp is doing to her!)

Pigtails

Today we tried putting Hailey's hair in pigtails for the first time.  I can't believe how long it is getting! Okay, so they are really little pigtails but I still had to document it since I did with the other girls too.
We have been playing indoors a lot lately.  It is just way to hot to play outside!  I kinda don't like that about living here, because I used to love to spend my time outside in the summer, now it just seems like I try to stay inside.  It was the exact opposite in Wyoming and Idaho.  Oh well, there are pluses and minuses to living both places. Speaking of Wyoming, we will probably not be going home this summer.  We planned a trip to Orlando, Fl during Brad's vacation time instead.  So we are very much looking forward to that.  Especially our trip to Disney World, Sea World, and Callie's scheduled breakfast in the castle with Cinderella! And of course getting to see Uncle Craig, Aunt Jillian and cousin Charlotte.

For those of you making a blog book:

If you are in the process of editing/making a blog book from blurb then I have some incentive for you to hurry up and finish.  This coupon code is for $39.99 off a blog book but it is only good until August.  I just ordered my 278 page hardcover book for only $21.00 SHIPPED!  And it would have only been $10.00 for me to order a softcover.  The code is: BLOG2010
You can enter it at the very end right where it says promo code.

Story time at the library

One of my girls favorite things to do in the summer is going to story time.  It seems like we have done this at almost every town we have lived in.  Last week they had a special magic show with "Tommy Terrific".  Misti and her girls were also there, so Callie got to share in the fun with her cousin Kennedy.  Sorry the pictures are a little blurry (my camera was acting up as usual, it decides to work whenever it pleases).

Girls Camp and birthday party

We had girls camp this last week for church and since I am the first counselor in the Young Women program I was supposed to go to camp.  But with my little ones and Hailey still nursing, that wasn't going to work.  So thankfully Amy Gerlach, one of the girls mom's, agreed to go in my place.  I ended up going up Monday morning to help carry supplies and set up and then Brad and I went back on Thursday night for Bishops night.  And all I have to say is that these women are SAINTS for sticking out the week because it was hot!

Yesterday we went to a birthday party at Aunt Mary's house for her grandson Aiden.  The girls had a lot of fun.  Aunt Mary made them up their  own little gift bag and we had pizza and cake.  Afterwords the kids all got to play with a Pinata.  Callie had quite the arm!

Fish, fish and more fish

This weekend we had the annual fishing derby in our town.  Grandpa and Brad fished with the girls and Hailey and I watched on the side.  Kayla and Callie once again caught their full limit and they caught them fast too.  I think it was because this year we brought a secret weapon... shrimp. We were catching huge catfish with that for bait.

A couple nights ago we all decided to go eat at a place called "Dondies".  They serve seafood and it's like a boathouse on the river.  Even though I don't eat fish I did find some yummy chicken on the menu.  Brad and Kayla had fun eating crawdads, yuck!  Afterwords, we all played at a nearby playground for a minute.  We even got grandpa and grandma on the teeter totters!

Fun in the sun

We had planned to go to a magic show today at the library with Misti and her girls, but it turns out that they had messed up the schedule and so they will not be having it till next week.  Sooo... we did the next best thing.  We took the girls to the dairy bar for ice cream and then went over to Misti's to let them play in the pool.  Kayla didn't wear her swimsuit because she officially decided that she is now to big for a kiddie pool.  She still had fun playing with the babies and helping out with them.
Hailey wouldn't have anything to do with the pool when I first tried to put her in, but she changed her mind by the end.  This picture is of Kayla blowing one of those mini fans in Hailey's face.  You can't see the fan, but I just love her facial expression in this picture.
This was how we finally got Hailey in the pool.  We got her onto the slide and slowly worked her down till her feet were in the water.  And pretty soon she was all the way in the pool, loving it.

And as for me, well, I have not been feeling all that well this past month. I didn't really blog about it because I'm sure it's probably not the most interesting thing to read about.  But anyway, I mostly was having pain on my right side and the same stomach issues again.  So I decided to go to my women's doctor and stomach doctor, since I was feeling pain in two different areas.  It turns out that I had a hemoragic cyst on my ovary that had recently ruptured (which is good because now it will hopefully go away).  That's kind of what I thought it might be, but I wasn't sure because I was very nauseous this time around. I am already feeling a lot better though and it's only been a week since I had that appointment.
And on Monday I had an upper GI/endoscopy done on my stomach.  And he said that I have Gastritis (which is something completely different than my last diagnosis, Gastroparesis) so I'm not really sure what to think now.  Anyway, he did a biopsy of the area where it was and hopefully soon we will know more of what is causing it and what I can do to help it.  I'm really feeling a lot better now though, my stomach thing seems to just flare up whenever it wants to, I can't really figure it out.  Anyway, I am so greatful to my mother in law who took time off of work, to come and be with me during the endoscopy.  I tried to go on my own insisting that Brad could take me home on his lunch break.  But she knew better.  And thank goodness she was there to take care of me, because I was sick after the anestesia and really out of it :)  I'm just glad I didn't throw up in her brand new car.
